The Manolo Blahnik semi-annual sale started a few weeks ago but prices were a mere 33% off. The boutique just slashed prices to 50% off this week. So, today would be a good day to take a long lunch especially if you have had your eye on a pair of shoes or boots and don’t want to wait until February rolls around to snap them up. Details are below. As always, I will send an up when the final markdown occurs. Until then…happy shopping!
31 W 54th Street (btwn 5th and 6th Ave.)
Hours 10:30 – 6pm (the boutique typically closes from 2-3pm to restock)
First off I want to start off by saying this is not quite a shoe post but I had to share. I will post some pictures of some shoes at the end for good measure.
Have you ever been in a relationship that was going really well and seemed to getting better with each day. Only to have your boyfriend or girlfriend out of nowhere, decide they want to break up with you. And to make matters worse, they give you the “It’s not you, it’s me” speech.
Manolo Blahnik was honored with the 2015 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion from The Couture Council of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Blahnik is the first ever footwear designer to receive the prestigious award from FIT. Blahnik’s award coincides with the release of his new book and the opening of the Manolo Blahnik boutique at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Tabitha Simmons was named Accessories Designer of the Year at last night’s CFDA awards. This is the 2nd CFDA award for the footwear designer who previously won a British Fashion award. Simmons launched her line in 2009 and is known for using exotic skins for her shoes and detailing them with eyelets and ornate embellishments.
Paul Andrew’s highly anticipated collection for J. Crew has finally arrived. Andrew’s collection is part of J. Crew collaboration with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners. The collection includes fringed sandals in cerulean blue and Andrew’s signature pumps in suede and floral. Shoes are available for pre-order today and are expected to be available on June 3rd.
Sophia Webster’s latest collection for J. Crew has arrived online. You will notice that some of the styles (namely the Alicia and the Nicole) are back in updated prints and colors. However, the Yaya which is a newcomer to the collection might be my favorite. Although, given this blue phase I am going through I could easily see myself wearing the Alicia pump. Take a look and decide for yourself. One thing for you sure you can’t go wrong with any of these shoes.
Spring has definitely sprung in NYC and I couldn’t be happier. The whole week has been simply beautiful. I just pray that it lasts because I am already thinking about all of the shoes I want to wear. There are so many. If you don’t believe me just take a look at my Pinterest account. Anyways, I thought it would be better to start off with the pumps I would love to break out.

I must admit that I have developed a recent obsession with rose gold. I can’t get enough of it whether it’s in the form of jewelry or shoes. Which explains why I instantly fell in love with these Sophia Webster sandals the minute I saw them.
I know that Mondays are typically reserved for man crushes. But, I would like to change that up a bit and start sharing my shoe designer crushes. This Monday I am kicking it off with Paul Andrew. There are many reasons why I love me some him. First and foremost, my first ever purchase of a blue shoes was one of his designs and I hate blue (at least I thought I did). Take a look at an illustration of the blue python Europeaus below and you will understand why I had to have them.
