That’s right you can finally shop Dior shoes online, albeit temporarily. Today Dior launches an online pop-up shop at BG.com selling shoes from its Resort 2016 collection. You will be able to shop the collection beginning today until December 31st. This is a very big deal because Dior is one of the few remaining brands unwilling to make their clothing and accessories available online. It will be interesting to see if this pop-up shop serves as a test case for offering more of its collection online similar to Chanel’s pop-up shop with Net-a-Porter earlier this year. First off I want to start off by saying this is not quite a shoe post but I had to share. I will post some pictures of some shoes at the end for good measure.
Have you ever been in a relationship that was going really well and seemed to getting better with each day. Only to have your boyfriend or girlfriend out of nowhere, decide they want to break up with you. And to make matters worse, they give you the “It’s not you, it’s me” speech.
Manolo Blahnik was honored with the 2015 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion from The Couture Council of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Blahnik is the first ever footwear designer to receive the prestigious award from FIT. Blahnik’s award coincides with the release of his new book and the opening of the Manolo Blahnik boutique at Saks Fifth Avenue.

It turns out having a shoe department that has its own zip code is not enough for Saks Fifth Avenue. The retailer has plans to launch a stand alone shoe store in Greenwich, CT in the fall of 2016. The shoe store concept will be base off the 10022 – shoe concept. Saks launched its 10022 – Shoe concept in 2007 on the eighth floor of its NYC flagship store. Continue reading
Tabitha Simmons was named Accessories Designer of the Year at last night’s CFDA awards. This is the 2nd CFDA award for the footwear designer who previously won a British Fashion award. Simmons launched her line in 2009 and is known for using exotic skins for her shoes and detailing them with eyelets and ornate embellishments.

One major lesson to be learned from the Cannes Film Festival – never wear flats to a film screening. The Festival’s dress code requires men to wear black tie with black shoes and women wear fashionable footwear (which most obviously have interpreted to mean high heels). Staffers enforced that strict dress code when they turned away a group of middle-aged women from the screening of “Carol” because they were wearing flats.
Sophia Webster’s Spring ’15 mini’s collection is now available and they are every bit as adorable as you would expect. The 10-style collection is available in baby, toddler and youth sizes and are reminiscent of some of her creations for mommy fashionistas.
