First off thank you for 2015. I am forever grateful that you all decided to not only follow me but that you continue to come back to check out what I have to say and of course look at pictures of some beautiful shoes. I promise to continue to share my love of shoes with you in this new year.
And so the adventure that we call 2016 begins today. I hope that you will continue to join me on this ShoeMiracle adventure. Here’s to an amazing 2016 and wishing you all of the blessings that your heart can stand.
I started hosting Easter lunch for my friends a few years back. This past year, my most fashionable friend showed up dressed to the nines and wearing the most beautiful pink suede shoes. Of course, I was running around barefoot wearing an apron. Her shoes were so beautiful that I almost hated having her remove them. But my house is a shoeless household. Seeing them hanging out by the door every time I went to let in another arriving guest did give me great pleasure. I was able to take a mental picture over and over again. Continue reading
Mo’Ne Davis, the young phenom, who was the first female pitcher to win a Little League World Series game has partnered with Make a Difference Everyday and Because I am a Girl to release a sneaker that will help impoverished young girls. The sneakers which will boast stitching reminiscent of that you will find on baseballs will retail for $75. At the young age of 13 this young lady is proving to be a role model in her outright and not just for young girls. Professional athletes could learn a thing or two from this young woman.
When I came across this quote posted in the Brooklyn Museum’s Killer Heels exhibit I was completely spellbound. In one sentence, Roger Vivier captured how I felt about shoes and frankly why so many little girls fall in love with the story of Cinderella and her glass slipper. No need to say more. The quote speaks for itself. Hope you are beginning to make your dreams a reality even if its just the dream of a new pair of shoes.
I have always loved animal print but I am a little obsessed with it at this very moment. There is not a pair of leopard shoes or a bag that I don’t want to bring home with me. So obviously when I came across this pair of leopard-print calf hair sandals from newcomer Francesco Russo, the drool commenced. And no, I didn’t bring home me. Well not yet at least. Russo started his line in 2014 and mark my words he is a designer that I will be keeping my eyes on because I expect many more drool worthy shoes from his line. In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful sandal I know, I will.

That moment when the perfect pair of grey boots that you have been looking for all season magically show up on the last call sale rack and they are 50% percent off. I searched high and low this season for these Christian Louboutin boots. They appeared to be sold out everywhere so I had given up all hope. So imagine my surprise, when I stumbled into Bergdorfs on Saturday to warm up after what I can only describe now as a misguided trip to Central Park in 15 degree weather to practice taking pics. And yes I went to Bergdorfs to warm up! Don’t judge! Anyways, back to the boots. I decided to swing through the shoe department to take a look around and peruse the sale rack one more time. I first saw the boots in a half size smaller than what I usually wear but decided to try them on anyways since miracles do happen. As I sat down to try them on I spotted the same boots in my actual size. Hello! Of course they were a perfect fit. Shoemiracle! Here is a pic of my lovelies! Can’t wait to wear them!
So it’s cold and snowy here in NYC today and all I can do is think back to warmer weather and of course throwing on a pair of sandals and kicking back in the sun. Paul Andrew’s Delphi sandal in python would be my pick. I thought I was in love with the Delphi when I first saw it in red suede but the python really steals my heart. Here’s to Shoesday and sandal weather.
Today is Giving Tuesday and I can’t think of a better way to participate than by donating a pair of shoes to a woman in need. Dress for Success has proclaimed today #GivingShoesDay and is making a call for women to donate their professional women’s shoes at their nearest Dress for Success location. As a former Dress for Success volunteer personal shopper, I can’t tell you how many times we suited up a client only to struggleto find a pair of matching shoes. Donating a pair of shoes really will make a difference. The top 10 Shoe Gooders will receive a complimentary pair of limited edition heels from Fergie’s footwear collection. Hopefully, you will take the time out to donate a pair of shoes and be some woman’s ShoeMiracle today.
